How to put an automatic e-mail signature under your messages:

  • In gmail, go to settings, find the place to put your signature and add an image (click on the image icon) in it. The image-link is http://mininginparadise.org/sites/default/files/uploads/banner_long.gif. Then, select the image and click on the chain icon (hyperlink). There you can insert the link to http://mininginparadise.org. Save, and the image will appear underneath every message you send with this e-mail adress.
  • In hotmail, go to your options (more options...) and choose to add a signature. There you click on a dropdownmenu, where 'RTF' is standard, and select HTML. There you paste the website code form above. Save it, and the image will appear in your e-mail messages.
  • In yahoo mail it's not possible to put images as a signature.

Texts

A short text you can use on your website or blog:

Three years ago, thousands of Peruvians rejected the “Río Blanco” mining project in a local referendum. Surrounded by cloud forests, páramos (moors) and fertile valleys, they want a future for their organic agriculture. This important natural environment and its population are threatened by the execution of Monterrico Metals' RioBlanco mining project, a British project in hands of the Chinese mining giant Zijin. The threat is not limited to thiscase; 25% of the four provinces has already been granted in mining concessions to other multinationals, possibly turning this pristine environment into a huge mining district.

Join the international campaign Mining in Paradise? No-go zones for mining and sign the e-petition! Give a voice to the people who see themselves affected by Río Blanco and other mining projects, yet have firmly chosen for their own model of sustainable development with respect for man and nature.

Go to www.mininginparadise.org, where you can sign the petition.
